Solar Eclipse Tracker 2027–2036: Upcoming Total and Partial Solar Eclipses

When is the next solar eclipse, what time will it happen, where will it be visible, and does the name of a country on an eclipse map mean that everyone in that country will experience totality? This Solar Eclipse Tracker answers those questions properly, because saying that an eclipse is visible from “Spain,” “Australia” or “China” is nowhere near precise enough when the spectacular part of a total solar eclipse may cross only a narrow strip of that country.
This tracker covers every total and partial solar eclipse between 19 August 2026 and 19 August 2036, including the global UTC timeline, the path of totality, major cities inside that path, nearby cities that will experience only a partial eclipse, and the regions from which each partial solar eclipse can be seen.
There are six total solar eclipses and eight partial solar eclipses during this exact ten-year period. Annular and hybrid solar eclipses are not included because this tracker is specifically dedicated to total and partial solar eclipses.

When Is the Next Total Solar Eclipse?
The next total solar eclipse in this tracker occurs on 2 August 2027. The eclipse will be total only inside a narrow corridor crossing parts of southern Spain, North Africa, the Middle East, Somalia and parts of the Indian Ocean.
Most people in the much larger surrounding visibility region will experience a partial solar eclipse rather than totality. In Spain, for example, totality is limited mainly to parts of Cádiz, Málaga, southern Granada, southern Almería, Ceuta and Melilla. Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville and most of northern and central Spain will not experience totality.
At the point of greatest eclipse, totality on 2 August 2027 will last approximately 6 minutes 23 seconds, making it the longest total solar eclipse included in this ten-year tracker.

These are global eclipse stages, which means that each row describes the movement of the Moon’s shadow across the entire Earth. The first partial phase begins at one geographic location, global maximum occurs somewhere else, and the final partial phase ends at another location entirely. These times should never be mistaken for the local beginning, maximum and ending times in one city.
