Aquarius, I was walking through Reykjavík this week when I saw two strangers trying to push a small car that had stalled at a traffic light. Within about thirty seconds, five more people had joined in. Nobody stopped to ask who owned the car, what had happened or whether they were getting anything in return. They just pushed until the engine started, waved at the driver and carried on with their day as if nothing remarkable had happened.

I stood there thinking how strange it is that we spend so much of our lives believing we have to do everything alone, when people are often far kinder than we expect.
