One of my favourite things about astrology is that just when you think you’ve finally figured it out, somebody casually drops a sentence like:
“Don’t worry, Saturn isn’t exact yet. It’s still five degrees away.”
And suddenly you’re wondering whether you’ve accidentally enrolled in an advanced geometry class instead of learning about the planets.
If you’ve spent any time reading astrology online, you’ve probably seen people talking about orbs.
“That’s within orb.”
“It’s separating by three degrees.”
“Wait until it’s exact.”
For a long time, I honestly thought everyone else understood exactly what that meant and I was the only one quietly nodding while secretly hoping nobody asked me to explain it.
The truth is, the idea is incredibly simple.
But nobody seems to explain it like an actual human being.
So let’s fix that.
Because understanding orbs changes how you read astrology forever.
It explains:
- why you can feel a transit before the official date
- why some people panic far too early
- why others think nothing is happening until the transit is almost over
- why two astrologers sometimes give different timing
- and why your life may already be changing even though the planet hasn’t technically reached the exact degree yet.
Understanding orbs also helps you stop treating astrology like an on-and-off light switch.
Because that isn’t how the sky works.
