🌠How To Make the Most of This Week
✔ Spend at least one evening simply watching Venus emerge from twilight. It is so bright that it’s easy to understand why ancient civilizations often mistook it for a star with special significance.
✔ Use binoculars on August 20 to explore the Moon’s crater walls and mountain ranges, when shadows make the lunar landscape appear almost three-dimensional.
✔ Don’t stop looking for Perseids just because the peak has passed. Bright fireballs can still surprise you, especially during the quiet hours before dawn.
✔ Head somewhere with little light pollution and let your eyes adjust for twenty minutes. The Milky Way is still putting on an extraordinary display, and without last week’s eclipse excitement, this is the perfect time to appreciate the quieter beauty of the night sky.
The universe doesn’t always need to shout to be breathtaking.
Sometimes it simply shines, one brilliant planet, one growing Moon and one unexpected shooting star at a time.
